Call for Participation

The Industry Track at IndiaHCI 2025 serves as a vital bridge between academia and industry within India's vibrant HCI community. It highlights real-world implementations, fosters collaboration, and nurtures innovation in design and technology. Formats include industry case studies, hands-on workshops, innovation demos, and a dynamic Startup Showcase. We invite practitioners, researchers, entrepreneurs, and thought leaders to showcase practical applications of HCI, foster collaboration, and inspire future innovations.

Submission Categories

1. Industry Case Study Presentations

(20 minutes + 10 min Q&A)

Share impactful HCI projects with measurable outcomes that demonstrate innovation, problem-solving, and real-world impact.

Eligibility:

• Current researcher or UX practitioner in India (employed or freelancing)

• Project executed with tangible/ measurable impact during 2024-2025

• Innovation frameworks or methodologies developed during 2024-2025

Topics Include:

• Generative AI/ML applications in user experience

• AR/VR/XR implementations and lessons learned

• Voice interfaces and conversational design

• Accessibility and inclusive design solutions

• Fintech and digital payment experiences

• EdTech innovations and learning platforms

• Healthcare and digital wellness applications

• Rural and semi-urban technology adoption

• Sustainable and ethical design practices

• Cross-cultural and multilingual design solutions

2. Interactive Workshops

(45-90 minutes)

Lead hands-on sessions teaching practical HCI skills, methodologies, or tools to conference attendees.

Format Options:

• Skill-building workshops

• Tool demonstrations

• Methodology deep-dives

• Collaborative design sessions

3. Innovation Demos

(10 minutes + 5 min Q&A)

Showcase cutting-edge prototypes, products, or technologies that push the boundaries of HCI.

Requirements:

• Live demonstration capability

• Clear innovation narrative

• Interactive elements for audience engagement

4. Startup Showcase

(15 minutes + 5 min Q&A)

Platform for startups to share their HCI-focused innovations, growth stories, and vision for the future.

Eligibility:

• Indian startups (founded 2020 or later)

• HCI/UX-focused products or services

• Demonstrable user traction or market validation

Submission Format

Final presentation or Demo/ Video (with accompanying write-up). Submissions are not anonymous and should include all author names, affiliations, and contact information. Clearly state the project context, goals, methodology, outcomes, impact, and key lessons or challenges.

Review & Presentation

• All submissions will be curated by an expert panel of industry reviewers.

• Selected submissions will present at IndiaHCI 2025.

• Both oral and interactive/ demonstration formats will be offered.
